Practicing the Faith (e.g. going to Mass) is essential to Christian perfection.
Father Robert Barron is an acclaimed author, speaker, and theologian. He is the Francis Cardinal George Professor of Faith and Culture at Mundelein Seminary near Chicago and also is the founder of Word On Fire (www.WordOnFire.org). The above video is part I of a six part series, "Answering the Skeptics"—questions about the church.
He is right on the mark... How many times do we expect to be bowled over at mass only to be less that? Why because we don't go to mass ready to receive!!!
ReplyDeleteI love this video. This seems to be something that is often misunderstood by Catholics today.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much.
If you liked Father Barron's comments here, you'll find many more in the form of YouTube videos, audio homilies, and columns at his WordOnFire website (cited above), in which he reflects on a stunning variety of topics, from Holy Scripture, theology, and philosophy to such pop culture phenomenon as Bob Dylan, "The Sopranos," and the current "vampire craze." And St. Ambrose parishioners should be happy to learn that our Vaughan Center Library now owns Father Barron's spectacular, 10-part DVD series CATHOLICISM, a series of ten hour-long films, shot in locations around the world, featuring glorious cathedrals, paintings, and sculpture, employing state-of-the-art, wide-screen technology and cinematography worthy of Hollywood at its best. PBS affiliates across the country have already aired selected episodes from this series, but you can enjoy them all by contacting Pam, our parish Director of Religious Education. I promise, you'll be glad you did!
